I am currently using Twitter as a means to get traffic to my site. Its funny looking back at it because a while ago I hated Twitter. And I truly meant that. I didn't understand how people could enjoy writing about their life's in 140 characters.

I thought Twitter was a means for self centered people to share what they do every second, of every minute, of every hour in their day.

As you can see, Twitter and me weren't too close.

The secret to mastering SEO, you first must know how to find good keywords. Keywords are basically search terms that someone types into Google. A lot of people use tools like the Google Keyword Tool or Word Tracker for their keyword ideas.

I am not going to mention those because last time I checked everyone knows about them in the blogging world.

You guys know Google right? Its the biggest, most trafficked website on the whole world wide web. A lot of people tell you to try your best to get some organic traffic or traffic from the big honcho himself Google. Forget
that for just one second. I know you're probably thinking 'Who does this guy think he is'. Put all those thoughts
behind you and hear me out.

 Who doesnt want traffic to their website? Viral traffic is one of the best types of traffic you can get. Once you apply the code I am going to share with you in this tutorial be prepared to get a nice boost of traffic and even a few extra optins to your email list.

Long gone are the days of just believing people. I know that sounds harsh, but the truth is, we are a "plugged in" society that can easily check every fact, and fact of a fact with Google, So recently when someone told me how popular their website was in terms of visitors per month,  I immediately responded with, BS.

You might have traffic, but you don't have a community. Without an open form of communication, ie. a blog with a comment section with customer feedback, the website owner will never truly know what their website visitors think about them.

How does this relate to social media? Well if you want to start an online community, you have to be a salesman. You have to convince people to join your community. It might seem like the Internet is filled with share this, like that, and follow me buttons, but the heart of all communities is and idea and transparency around it.

OK you have a website running, your writing some content and life is good! You want to start making some money off your hard work and be rewarded for your efforts- a perfectly good excuse. Now how do you go about doing this? You might have read some articles on the web but you might still be as little confused.

10 years ago you could get away with building a web site, building a few backlink's to it and getting a good ranking in the search engines.  Traffic would flow to your site and all you needed to do was figure out a way to monetize that traffic.

Nowadays, the internet has evolved, and competition in the SERP's is far more competitive.   It's so competitive that search engine listings are far from guaranteed and webmasters have to fight for their traffic. 

Despite this, people are still so hung up over listings in the search engines. Whilst I agree that free, organic traffic is a beautiful thing, we should never become reliant on such traffic to power our business or blog.  Why?  Because Google reportedly updates its algorithm 200 times a year and at any point in time your number one listing in the results could be dropped like a bad habit. How would you react if your traffic source instantly dried up?
