Windows and Mac computers already come preloaded with a bunch of fonts. These fonts are the ones you find in Microsoft Word when you are browsing through the fonts list. You might one day be working on a paper or designing something which will require something more than just the default fonts.



To get more cooler fonts for your computer you must first visit DaFont.com. Once there you will be shown a few of the fonts that the site offers. Look through all the ones that interest you, trust me it will take you a while because the site is loaded with tons and tons of fonts.


Whats really cool is people design their own fonts and then submit it to DaFont. For example the other day I got myself a really cool looking Halo font and few other nice looking ones.

After you've made your selection(s) on each of the respected fonts pages on the right side you should see a fairly large gray 'Download' button. Click on it and download your fonts.


When you download the fonts it will come in a zipped up file. To open it you can either use your Operating Systems default opener or a program like Winrar or a free alternative like 7zip.

Once you have finished unzipping your new fonts here is what you have to do to finalize everything and use them.

• Windows 7/Vista: Right-click on the font files > "Install"
• Windows XP: Put the font files into C:\Windows\Fonts
• Mac OS X: Double-click the font file > "Install font" button
