How To Setup A Ventrilo Server

Welcome to Guide Goods. Have you heard about Ventrilo. I'm sure you have. Ventrilo is the best way to chat with your friends with out the use of a key board or your fingers in any way. Then how do you talk you ask? You talk by using your voice.
Huh?You must mean using a telephone? Nope, with Ventrilo all you need is your voice and a mic. That is it. And even if you do not have a mic you can still use it. Thats how revolutionary this program is.
Today we will be learning how to set up your own Ventrilo server in under 15 minutes. First things first go to http://ventrilo.com/download.php. Once your there scroll down a bit until you see the Server Programs Section. Click on Windows i386-32bit download.
After you click on the link you might have to Agree to something. Just click OK. Download and Install it.
Go to Start-All Programs-VentSrv-Ventrilo Server. This should come up.
You must leave this executable running for you to be able to connect to your server later on. Just minimize it.
Now we must find your IP Address. If you have a dynamic IP Address go to Start-Run-CMD. Type ipconfig. Then you just write down your IP and keep it safe. If you have a normal IP then go to Whats My IP or to IP Chicken and just copy it down from there.
Next go to Start-All Programs-VentSrv-Edit INI File.
There you should see this long text file.In Name:(What you want your server to be called).
Go down to AdminPassword:(What do you want the admin password to be). If you want a password for people to be able to log on you can put one but its not necessary.
If you havent already downloaded Ventrilo not the server program the actual file then go to Ventrilo again and under the Client Programs section just download the first link there. Download and install it. Start it up.
In the server area click on the little arrow. This should come up.
Fill in the blanks. Also the default Port Number is: 3784. Click OK. You should be able to connect. If you did everything correctly this should appear.
